The Lamborghini Egoista is a concept car created to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary in 2013. Only one unit of this car was manufactured. The name “Egoista” means “selfish” in Italian. Its price is estimated to be above $120 million.
Walter de Silva, the head of Volkswagen Group Design at the time, designed it. The Egoista was never intended for production. Instead, it was designed to showcase Lamborghini’s design and engineering capabilities.

Design Inspired by Fighter Jets
The Egoista’s design is inspired by fighter jets as it has sharp, angular lines and an aggressive look. The car’s shape is meant to resemble a bull, referencing Lamborghini’s logo.
Key Design Features:
- Cockpit-Style Cabin: The Egoista has a cockpit resembling a fighter jet. The steering wheel resembles an aircraft’s controls, and the canopy opens upward like a jet’s.
- LED Lighting: The car is covered in LED lights, which improve visibility and add to its futuristic appearance.
- Carbon Fiber Body: It is made mostly of carbon fibre which makes it lightweight and strong.
- Aerodynamic Elements: The car has a large rear diffuser and a sharp front splitter to improve airflow and performance.
Performance
The Egoista is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, the same as the Lamborghini Gallardo. However, it was never tested for official performance figures but Lamborghini estimates the following:
- Horsepower: 600 HP
- Top Speed: Over 200 mph
- Acceleration: 0-60 mph in around 3 seconds
The car also features an all-wheel-drive system to handle its power effectively.
Why the Egoista Stands Out
The Egoista is not like most cars. Here’s what makes it unique:
1. Single-Seater Design
The Egoista is built for only one person. There is no space for passengers, making it a true driver-focused car.
2. Tribute to Lamborghini’s History
The car was created to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. Its design and engine pay homage to the brand’s heritage.
3. Showcase of Technology
The Egoista highlights Lamborghini’s engineering skills, with features like carbon fibre construction and advanced aerodynamics.
Current rest-place of Egoista
It is a one-off concept car, so it’s unavailable for purchase. It’s kept in Sant’Agata Bolognese, North Italy.
