The Apple iPhone 16 lineup has officially been introduced in the Apple event held at 9th September. Apple has made quite changes to the specifications of this series. Today we will take a broad view at all of the new features added. Also we look at the price of all the variants of this phone. All of them will be available to the public from September 27.

Pricing of Base and Plus Models
The base has different pricing depending on its storage.

New Features
Camera
The camera in base and plus models is getting a big upgrade. The new base variant’s lower camera is a 48 MP Main camera and a 12 MP 2x Telephoto camera. Whereas, the upper one is a 12 MP Ultra Wide Camera. The new cameras are shaped as eyes (if you rotate your phone) to be able to record Spatial Capture. That you can watch on Apple Vision. The ultrawide camera has a new feature of auto focus. It focuses the object if you bring it too close to your camera. This feature was already in the last year’s pro models. A new feature comes to a pro model, and the base models are allowed to have that feature next year. This so Apple can differentiate between what they are offering in their better and more expensive pro models.
Another Button ???
Two years, two new buttons! Apple is really feeling the need for more buttons in their phones. Last year we got the action button. And this year we got the camera control button. It is totally dedicated to the camera. You cannot press this button. Instead, you slide over it. You can switch between different camera modes and zoom in and out using this button.
Performance
The 16 models are jumping two generation. The 15 models have A16 chips while the 16 ones will get A18 ones. This means that 16 models will have a 30% faster CPU, 40% faster graphics and 100% faster machine learning thanks to Apple Intelligence.
The new models will have a new thermal structure allowing them to get rid of heat and provide 30% higher sustained performance.
The screen still has a refresh rate of 60Hz. That makes it feel a little laggy than other smartphone in similar price range.
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence will be a game changer for the new models. The new key features of the new iPhone 16 base models are below:
- It can generate new emojis. (AI Generated)
- It can summarize whole emails and messages for you so you don’y have to go through all of it.
- It can remove unwanted objects from images. This features isn’t quite new in the market but the one Apple is offering is quite Fast and Effective.
- Reduce Interruptions – It is upto the AI to decide which notification are more important. The phone will show you only that notifications. It’s like a lower riskier version of ‘Do Not Disturb‘.
- It can proof-read your messages.
- Re-write them in another tone.
- Siri is getting a boost from Apple Intelligence and it will get a lot smarter.
