In a momentous step toward educational transformation in Southern Punjab, the Khanpur Institute of Technology (KIT) was officially inaugurated today by Her Excellency Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins, Consul General of Lahore, Pakistan.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished vice chancellors, senior academicians, members of the district administration, and notable local figures. The event began with the unveiling of the commemorative plaque and a symbolic tree plantation by the Consul General, symbolizing growth, hope, and a commitment to education.
In her remarks, Consul General Hawkins shared:
“It is truly inspiring to see how someone with great success in both Pakistan and the United States has returned to his hometown to build an institute to benefit students from this community,”* said Consul General Hawkins. “Education empowers, strengthens communities, and makes the world safer.” Added by her excellency.
Prof. Dr. Saad Rehman, Director General of KIT, spoke about the institute’s mission to provide accessible, industry-aligned education:

Mr. Omer Naseem, Member of the Board of Directors, expressed the team’s unwavering belief in social impact through education:

Dr. Tariq Javed, Chairman Board of Directors and the visionary behind KIT, shared the inspiration that led to the institute’s establishment:
“This institute was founded on a dream—to empower the youth of Southern Punjab. At KIT, we don’t just teach; we transform. Our mission is to build a generation that will lead with knowledge, integrity, and purpose.”
