Rumors and leaks regarding iPhone 17 features have surfaced. It has been some time since the iPhone 16 came out. Even though the dust is still settling, it is an appropriate time to discuss the upcoming iPhones’ features.
The iPhone 17 is still one year far away from release. But, tech analyst Jeff Pu has given some hints about the changes in the forthcoming models.

Expected Features
A bunch of new features are coming to the iPhone 17 models. They are:
Smaller Dynamic Island
The coming models are getting a smaller dynamic island. This is possible because Apple is changing the face ID system. It will have a metalens for face ID.
Traditional iPhone cameras use curved lenses to direct light to the image sensor, but a metalens is different. It’s a flat, ultra-thin lens with tiny patterns that focus light with greater precision.
The dynamic island feature came to the iPhone 14 Pro models. It is also present in 15 and 16 models. Since then it has not been upgraded till now.
Better Camera
According to Pu, the upcoming models will feature a better main and front camera.
The 16 models have a 12 MP telephoto camera and a 12 MP main camera. The 17 models are getting a big upgrade as the telephoto camera will be upgraded to 48 MP and the selfie camera to 24 MP.
Increased RAM
iPhone 16 models have a RAM of 8 GB. Whereas the 17 models will have 12 GB of RAM. According to Pu, this increased RAM will contribute to better performance for Apple Intelligence.
Some other details
Pu also described some less interesting details of the 17 Pro and Pro Max. These two smartphones’ displays will remain unchanged in size next year. Being the same 6.3 and 6.9 inches.
As per the yearly upgrade. iPhone 17 models are expected to get an A19 chip. The chip will have the same 3nm processor as in the 16 models
Overall changes
The 17 models are not going to get anything ground-breaking. The upgrades are expected to be an addition of some new basic features. This is a downpoint of owning iPhones.
Moreover, other features like battery, storage and some other things can get an upgrade. Apple really should put something big in their phones except just changing the style of the camera or just upgrading the phone to better specifications every year.
