The tremors, which occurred at 00:47:41 IST, were also felt in parts of India, including the Delhi-NCR region.
Several towns in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces were severely affected. The shallow depth of the earthquake, reported by GFZ as 10 km (6.2 miles), contributed to stronger ground shaking and greater destruction.
